Lavrov said in an interview with Sputnik today: that his country will not talk to any party on the basis of the peace formula put forward by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, adding: “It is clear that Kyiv is not ready for dialogue. The peace formula put forward by Zelensky is based on the withdrawal of our forces from Donbass and the Peninsula Crimea, Zaporozhye, Kherson, paying compensation and recognition by international courts are just illusions, and we will not talk to any party under these circumstances.”

Lavrov continued: “Immediately after the start of the special military operation, Zelensky asked to sit at the negotiating table, and we did not refuse, and we agreed to meet with his representatives. Zelensky's complete independence in making important decisions, and already last April, at the request of the West, which was interested in continuing hostilities, he quickly stopped negotiations and sharply hardened his position.

In addition, Lavrov stressed that if Moscow returns to joint work with the West, this will be done on new bases, and he said: “One of the lessons is that if we return to work together, then this will have to be done on a new basis, because the old methods no longer work.”

Lavrov pointed out that the West has turned the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe into a hostile media war arena, stressing that the Polish presidency has contributed to reducing the results of the organization's work to zero.

The Russian Foreign Minister stated, "The West views the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe as a tool to advance their collective interests, and it has been turned into a propaganda battleground because of the policy of Poland, which headed the organization in 2022, and through its public anti-Russian positions."

On the negotiations regarding the Iranian nuclear file, Lavrov said: His country does not see that the (point of no return) has been passed in the negotiations on restoring the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action.

Lavrov stressed that the moment when a political decision must be taken has come, and added: “The Westerners are the ones who keep saying that everything is lost, and they are trying once again to make the world fear the Iranian threat. They do not like to remember that the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action worked well.” Until the United States decided overnight to terminate the nuclear agreement in violation of its obligations under UN Security Council Resolution 2231 in May 2018.

The Russian Foreign Minister indicated that “from a technical point of view, the negotiations to resume these historic agreements have reached a stage in which the main approaches are identified, and the time has come to take responsible decisions, and Moscow is ready for such a development,” explaining that “the search for alternatives to restore the joint action plan is fraught with escalation and an arms race.” And the consequences may be irreversible.”

With regard to Western accusations and allegations about Russian-Iranian military cooperation, Lavrov stressed that "the West did not provide evidence of Iran's supply of drones to Russia."
