In Bolivia, the governor of Santa Cruz, Luis Fernando Camacho, an opponent of the national government of Luis Arce, was arrested in a police operation.
According to the authorities, this occurred under the "Coup d'état I" case.
Juan Carlos Camacho, the governor's lawyer, says it was a kidnapping and talks about the official's legal situation.
The Prosecutor's Office denies that it was a kidnapping or the result of political persecution and ensures the arrest warrant dates from October 31, although the lawyer says that the detainee had not received that communication.
