Already at the end of the year, fans can look forward to brand new - and of course highly dramatic - episodes of "Der Bergdoktor".
Mark Keller, the actor of Dr.
Alexander Kahnweiler has now spoken to Barbara Schöneberger about why his serial son is suddenly no longer visible.

Vera Fendrich (Rebecca Immanuel) and Dr.
Alexander Kahnweiler (Mark Keller) cannot have children together, they decide to give a child from the children's home a new home.
They choose Jens-Torben (Luis Immanuel Rost).
But the first time was anything but easy for the new family and full of many obstacles.
However, attentive fans have not failed to notice that Jens-Torben has suddenly disappeared from the Bergdoktor scene.

The reason for this: Luis Immanuel Rost, Jens-Torben's actor, has now grown up, "seventeen is too big," explains Mark Keller on the Barbara Schöneberger podcast.
"
We built it up in the series over three years and now it has become too big for the editors and is simply not mentioned anymore.
It's just not there anymore," explains Mark Keller.
"We don't talk about him anymore on the show either.
Every once in a while we try to say he's at boarding school somewhere."

"The Mountain Doctor" is a remake
“Der Bergdoktor” was already on the air in the 1990s.
From 1992 to 1997, the doctor series was still on Sat.1.
At that time, Gerhart Lippert (85) took on the role of the mountain doctor as Dr.
Burgner.
But after only four seasons, Burgner died in serial death and Dr.
Hallstein (Harald Krassnitzer, 62) became the new mountain doctor.
Despite good ratings, Sat.1 canceled the series after only five years.
Finally, ZDF secured the rights to the series – with success.
Because even after 16 seasons, there is still no series finale planned.

Hans Sigl also recently announced a "finale that I would not have expected".
So it's going to be exciting.
The good news: fans will find out earlier this year how season 16 will continue.
The years before, "Der Bergdoktor" started in January, now the new episodes will be available from December 29th, as usual at 8:15 p.m. on ZDF.
