A fire breaks out in a Lufthansa plane on the way to Frankfurt Airport.

A laptop had overheated.

Frankfurt –

Please turn off all electronic devices now.”

Everyone who has ever enjoyed a flight knows this sentence.

This safety notice before take-off is also standard at Lufthansa.

It is not known whether a passenger on flight LH457 from Los Angeles to Frankfurt Airport complied.

But the fact is that the passenger's laptop on the Boeing 747-830 overheated and caught fire.

The plane was on its way to Frankfurt Airport for almost three hours on Monday (December 26) when the crew set course for O'Hare Airport in Chicago via Minneapolis.

A safety landing was the result of the fire on board, as reported by the US broadcaster ABC.

Just recently, a Lufthansa plane involuntarily spent time at Chicago Airport.

The reason, however, was a frozen ground vehicle that was frozen to the ground in the bitterly cold temperatures that are currently prevailing in the USA and was no longer manoeuvrable.

The Lufthansa plane was only able to leave for Frankfurt Airport several hours late.
