The parties are not over, nor are the strikes.
Twelve days after the end of a first strike by SNCF signalmen in Bordeaux, from December 15 to 18, a new social movement by signalmen at Bordeaux station is planned for the New Year.
Disruptions are expected from Friday 30 December until Monday 2 January.
For this last weekend of the year, delays and cancellations are therefore to be expected for regional transport in New Aquitaine departing from Bordeaux station.
SNCF recommends that travelers "
defer (their) trip or check (their) train or connection the day before at 5 p.m. on the TER Nouvelle-Aquitaine site, the SNCF Connect application or any other mobility application
".

This social movement comes as the region has just announced the purchase of 15 new TER trains, recognizing that “
the current fleet is no longer sufficient to provide quality service on a daily basis
”.
Even outside of strike periods, the region also recognizes that, since the start of the 2022 school year, “
many trains are overloaded
”, especially during rush hour.
