The Peruvian Judiciary ratified 18 months of preventive detention against former President Pedro Castillo, during a hearing held this Thursday afternoon.
The judicial body announced the news through its official Twitter account without offering further details in this regard.

Castillo has been detained since December 7 at the headquarters of the National Division of Special Operations.
He faces the crime of rebellion for breaking the constitutional order by ordering the closure of Congress on December 7, and also for "conspiracy, to the detriment of the State," according to the Public Ministry.
