Soccer star Pelé has died at the age of 82, his daughter confirmed on Instagram.

O Rei, as he was also known, is considered one of the greatest soccer players of all time.

He broke several records in this sport.

For example, he was the only one to win three World Cups: Sweden 1958, Chile 1962 and Mexico 1970.

Edson Arantes do Nascimento, known as Pelé, was born on October 23, 1940 in Minas Gerais, Brazil.

Pelé was the first footballer who, at just 17 years old, was part of the team that won the 1958 World Cup in Sweden, the first that Brazil also won.

In 1962 and 1963, Pelé's Santos won the Brazilian tournament, the Copa Libertadores and the Intercontinental.

At less than 30 years old, Pelé reached an insurmountable milestone: scoring 1,000 goals.

In total, the Brazilian idol claims that in his history he scored 1,283 goals.
