The voluntary position of child and youth officer in Pliening, which has been orphaned for almost a year, has now been filled again: Kathleen Günnewicht succeeds Tina Lucka.

Pliening – Almost a year after Tina Lucka gave up her honorary positions as a municipal councilor (Greens) and as a children and youth officer, the municipality of Pliening has a new children and youth officer: Kathleen Günnewicht from Landsham.

The 39-year-old is not a member of the municipal council, but that is not decisive for the office.

Pliening: Replacement on proposal

"If you want to change something, then you have to do something," says the Landshamerin.

She has been involved in mother-child gymnastics at TSV Pliening-Landsham since 2010 and is deputy head of the gymnastics department.

She is also chairwoman of the parents' council of the Denk-mit-Kita in Poing and is right in the middle of the topic anyway thanks to her own children.

Béatrice Merk, a non-partisan member of the Plieninger municipal council, asked her whether she could imagine taking on the honorary position as child and youth officer for the municipality or the municipal council, which had been orphaned since the end of January, says Kathleen Günnewicht.

Despite her voluntary work and her job, the trained hotel manager said "yes".

As I said: "If you want to change something, then you have to do something." Günnewicht introduced himself to the municipal council in the December meeting.

Pliening: Already a few honorary posts

She will initially spend the next few days and weeks "trying to get me into the office," she says enthusiastically.

She is in contact with the former speaker Tina Lucka, who lives in the Allgäu, and has already received information and material from her.

These include the results of the youth survey that was carried out a year ago.

A big wish from young people: more and more attractive meeting places.

(By the way: Everything from the region is now also available in our regular Ebersberg newsletter.)

With the reopened youth room, the responsible association Jugendraum Pliening has already taken a big step.

At the moment, the meeting point is regularly open on Fridays from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. (also on December 30), and recently also on Saturdays from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The youth room is in the basement of the community center in Pliening, which means for young people from Landsham, for example: How do we get there?

A question that Kathleen Günnewicht knows.

She wants to try to find an answer or solution.

The general question of children and especially youth work in the municipality of Pliening is: "How can you leave the youth in the village?", says Günnewicht.

Many are naturally drawn to the city of Munich.

Creating offers and meeting places is something that she wants to tackle as a speaker.

But first of all, the following applies to the time after the holidays: "Fox into the office."
