The US authorities announced the registration of two new deaths, as a result of the snow storm that struck a large part of the United States during the Christmas period, bringing the number of victims to at least 61.
“Two deaths were recorded in Buffalo, New York State,” Mark Boloncars, a local official in New York State, told AFP, noting that at least 39 people died in the state alone, and the death toll is likely to rise.
Polonkars said that four of the victims were found in cars, 11 in homes and 17 outside, pointing out that the expected floods due to the rapid melting of snow will be "limited".
Boloncars added: It has been restored to all parts of the city, which usually witnesses severe winters.
The storm that hit the state caused major turmoil at airports, with thousands of flights canceled, in addition to a state of chaos to the extent that local rescue teams found themselves stuck and unable to help, while cold weather dominated at varying levels in a large part of the United States until the states of Texas and Florida. Unaccustomed to such weather.
