For the third time, the youth officers in Wartenberg, Melanie Falzetta and Simon Grandinger, organized the Christmas card campaign for the nursing home and clinic in Wartenberg.
It was another resounding – and emotional – success.
Wartenberg – The campaign was launched in 2020, when visiting hours were restricted due to the corona pandemic.
"Since the homemade Christmas cards bring joy to all recipients, we have decided to continue and expand this campaign regardless of the Corona situation.
This year, not only the pupils of the Marie-Pettenbeck School, but also the kindergarten children of the parish children's house and the house for children as well as the after-school care children of the Josefsheim did handicrafts," the youth officers reported in a press release.
It is about “a beautiful, indirect interaction between the children and the elderly and patients.
The children also know that their cards are for a good cause and that the recipients really appreciate the lovingly designed greetings”.
Accordingly, the children were asked to make Christmas greetings again this year – there were no limits to their creativity.
The result: numerous individual Christmas cards and wishes that were sent shortly before Christmas Eve to Inge Rott, deputy facility manager of the retirement home, as well as to the representatives of the clinic management, Managing Director Constantin von Stechow, Dr.
medical
Klaus Friedrich Becher, Chief Physician for Geriatric Rehabilitation, and Nursing Manager Florian Dittrich.
The clinic representatives were impressed and grateful.
Von Stechow thanked the children and the youth officers for the great campaign: "I am sure that these wonderfully designed cards will touch the hearts of our patients.
That's a great Christmas joy."
The youth officers are also grateful in the message: "Without the commitment of the children and institutions, this campaign would not work.
We are grateful that for the past three years before Christmas, they have taken the time to make lovely Christmas cards for the elderly and patients.”
