Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the Kyiv regime's initiative to hold a “peace summit” at the United Nations headquarters a crazy idea and a public relations stunt on the part of the United States.

Zakharova said in a press conference today: “The talk about holding the so-called “peace summit” on February 24, the anniversary of the start of the Russian special military operation in Ukraine at the United Nations headquarters, which will contribute, according to the plan of the Kyiv leaders, to the implementation of the so-called “peace formula.” What Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky put forward, according to Western dictates, is nothing more than a crazy idea and another PR trick on the part of Washington, which has recently been trying to present the Kyiv regime in the image of a peacemaker.

And Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov confirmed earlier today that his country will not talk to any party on the basis of the peace formula proposed by the Ukrainian president, as what was proposed is just illusions that clearly reflect that Kyiv is not ready for dialogue.

With regard to the explosions that affected the Russian gas export pipelines to Europe, North Stream 1 and 2, Zakharova reaffirmed that Russia will not allow the truth to be hidden and insists on conducting a comprehensive and transparent investigation with its participation, pointing out that the United States is the largest beneficiary from the destruction of the two pipelines to ensure the West's purchase of gas. American at a great price.
