A man wants to do his shopping at Penny's.
Then he gets into an embarrassing situation with the store detective for absolutely no reason.
Offenbach – When Andreas Kaufmann from Offenbach recently entered the Penny market on Kaiserstrasse to do his shopping, he had no idea that a little later he would be branded a thief in front of the assembled clientele.
This is reported by op-online.de.
"I will never forget how embarrassing and devastating the whole situation was for me," says Kaufmann.
After paying for the purchase, he is about to leave the market when a man blocks his way.
He pretends to be a house detective and asks Kaufmann to follow him to his office.
He then asked why.
"You know that very well, we have everything on video," is the answer.
This is how Kaufmann describes it.
He was embarrassed by the situation in front of all the other customers in the checkout area.

So he followed the store detective to shorten the matter.
"I also asked him to refrain from using the first name," he says.
But that doesn't seem to interest the overzealous Penny security guard.
When he got to the office, he made it absolutely clear: "You are now banned from entering the office and I want to check your purchases."

Kaufmann insists again that he doesn't want to be called "du" and unpacks his purchase, annoyed.
It quickly turns out that the goods match the receipt to a hair's breadth.
Store detective in the Penny market does not want to admit mistakes
But instead of admitting his mistake and apologizing, the detective complains that Kaufmann allegedly should have declared his bread to the Heberer bakery when entering the Penny market.
Kaufmann has had enough and insists that he wants to speak to the store manager immediately and call the police to document the whole thing.
But instead of following this wish, the man refuses to talk.
The reason he gives is that he doesn't know where the store manager is and he's only doing his duty anyway.
He also owes the video recordings that were pompously announced in the store.

"When I asked about it, he said that the sighting would cost 250 euros," says Kaufmann.
Without a word, Kaufmann is then greeted with a “Goodbye”.
"He still took back the house ban beforehand," says the senior.
"You could really tell at that moment that he was afraid that I might insist on calling the police."

Only when he is back in the fresh air does Kaufmann realize what has just happened.
"I immediately wrote to Penny and complained about this incident," says Kaufmann.
“But I was only succinctly dismissed.
Nobody took me seriously.”
Penny Market: Sorry for the delay
The Rewe Group, the parent company of the Penny discount chain, seems to be dismayed by what happened in the Kaiserstrasse branch.
"We are already in the process of fully investigating the incident described," promises Anne Behrendt, assistant to the management of Penny Region Südwest.
It is the company's aim that customers feel comfortable and safe in the stores, she assures immediately.
"We very much regret that we obviously did not succeed in this case and we sincerely apologize for that." In the meantime, Penny has also contacted Andreas Kaufmann personally and apologized in writing for the incident.
