A Berliner who has moved to Stuttgart is surprised by an unusual practice in Baden-Württemberg on TikTok: She keeps noticing people who meet at their cars.

Stuttgart – The people from Baden-Württemberg are said to have many characteristics.

The most popular Swabian clichés: meticulous cleanliness, tireless diligence or thrift.

This may actually apply to one or the other - but the attributes cannot be used to draw conclusions about all citizens in the Ländle.

However, a TikToker from Berlin who moved to Stuttgart noticed a completely different peculiarity, as she reports on the social media platform.

The lady turns to her Baden-Württemberg community for help, as

"Is that a thing?": A Berliner is surprised at the "unusual" practice in Baden-Württemberg

Rebecca Blank reports on TikTok in a video that was published in May that she is on her way to a gym.

At first she sat in her car in the parking garage for a while and noticed something.

"I have a very important question because I just don't check," she addresses the community.

"Since I've been here, I've seen people chilling in parking lots, by their cars." She noticed this unusual practice among both young people and the elderly.

"The door is open and people are standing around and chatting - can anyone tell me why they do it this way?" Blank asks.

"Did I miss something?

Is that a thing?” She was all the more embarrassed that she had been sitting in the car on her cell phone for some time and the others in the parking garage had seen her.

"But seriously, if anyone can explain the parking spaces at McDonalds or at gas stations, that's something like that, explain it to me," the TikTokerin asks the users.

"Isn't that how it's done everywhere?" TikTok community irritated by observation

In the comments below the TikTok video, most users are irritated by Rebecca Blank's observation.

"Isn't that how it's done everywhere?" writes an astonished Swabian.

"Huh, what's so unusual about that?" someone asks.

"I thought that was normal," commented another user, amused.

"People want to meet, but don't want to pay anything," one user tries to explain.

"Here at Kaufland, they even bring their folding camping chairs and chill around the cars all evening," reports another.

Some people can also understand the observation of the TikTokerin from Berlin.

"I just don't get it either," confirms one user.

"It was also a culture shock for me when I moved down here from the North Sea," agrees another.

In any case, Rebecca Blank is now "through with Baden-Württemberg" - after only 10 months she moved back to Berlin.
