The locations of fatal hiking accidents are scattered all over Hong Kong. The dangerous places of West Gouya and Daojiaya, the second highest peak in Hong Kong, Fenghuang Mountain, each have dead souls.

Anaconda Point and Dog's Nga Ridge itself are also among the high-risk locations in the country park where fatal and serious accidents have occurred.

Among those high-risk locations, the Motian Cliff at Mitong Rock Stream and the top of Lion Rock each had a fatal accident this year.

This year, there were 3 fatal accidents on the outer islands. Some people jumped into the sea to save their daughters and drowned in Tung Lung Island, some fell off a cliff in Weng Kong Bay, and some fell into the sea while being tied up in Heng Chau.

In terms of stone streams, besides Mitong Stone Stream, there have been fatal accidents in Little Hawaii Falls and Hengchong Stone Stream.

The types of fatal mountaineering accidents are mainly falling from heights and fainting, and some mountaineers died when they ignored severe weather warnings. In terms of months, the number of "accidents" in summer mountaineering is the highest, among which July is the month with the most fatal accidents, with 5 people killed, and 4 people died in mountaineering accidents in June; as for January, February and 3 people each in April.

In fatal hiking accidents, some are alone, some are in two, and some are in a large group.

In the case of traveling together, most of the rescuers can arrive at the scene on the same day and rescue them as soon as possible, while in some cases of traveling alone, it takes many days to find the victim.

It is worth mentioning that this year there were two accidents in which fathers took their autistic sons hiking in the mountains, but they could not be searched and rescued immediately. In the end, the fathers passed away and the sons were fine.
