Mild temperatures are currently dominating the weather.

, it should be the "warmest New Year's Eve since 1881".

The year 2022 will probably be the warmest on record.

Weather in Bavaria: will it stay mild or will the cold come back in the New Year?

In the new year, the mild temperatures will continue for the time being.

There are around ten degrees in the Free State, the weather models seem to agree on that.

Will winter and snow come back again?

The current trends show completely different pictures.

According to meteorologist Jan Schenk from

The Weather Channel

, it should be mild throughout January.

"A classic La Niña pattern", which means that warm air flows to Germany again and again.

Schenk's forecast disappoints winter fans even further.

It is said to be mild in February and March as well, if another onset of winter with snow comes, according to him, then only towards the end of February or March.

Weather expert Dominik Jung sees it differently.

According to him, it could snow again next Saturday (January 7th).

The American weather model then shows temperatures of around minus ten degrees for 1500 meters.

"A blatant temperature difference to New Year's Eve." As a result, there are always snow signals.

In Bavaria, it could therefore snow in the Alps and in Central and Upper Franconia.

It remains to be seen whether it will stay mild or snow again.
