An indictment was filed this morning (Friday) against 26-year-old Islam Perok, who carried out the bomb attacks in Jerusalem about a month ago, during which Aryeh Shechopek and Tedsa Tschuma were murdered.

According to the indictment, Prok adopted the worldview and activities of the ISIS organization as early as 2013 and even pledged allegiance to the organization in 2016.

Also, between the years 2017-2022 he studied mechanical engineering at Azrieli College in the city and used his training to realize his intentions to carry out a mass attack in the Jerusalem area and bring about the death of Jewish residents in the spirit of the organization and in view of the hostility he felt towards the State of Israel and its citizens.



According to the indictment, Prok was meticulously prepared for the attack, in order to realize his plan and intentions and therefore learned about the preparation of explosives and detonators, established a laboratory for the production of explosives in the Geevi area of ​​Ramallah, practiced the production and efficiency of the explosives and located suitable arenas for the plan he built.

The indictment also states that the 26-year-old decided in September to put his plan into action and therefore purchased suitable materials and aids in various places with which he produced eight kilograms of explosives in the laboratory.

Prock also purchased a used scooter and painted it to delete the chassis number in order to disguise it.

He slipped it into an abandoned area in the Mahmes area of ​​the Judean desert, and a change of clothes along Route 1 going down to the Dead Sea.

He marked the scenes of the attacks after browsing navigation apps and even visited them earlier after concluding that people had been killed in the morning hours.

Also according to the indictment, on the night between November 22-23, Prok took with him three explosive devices and drove with two of them to the Ramot junction, intending to bury them separately so that one would explode and draw relief forces and the police to the scene, and then the other would explode and cause extensive damage to the forces gathered for help.

But when the young man arrived at the scene, he noticed that one of the loads was malfunctioning, so he decided to bury the two loads together, disguised them near the back of a bus stop and returned to collect the other load.

So, he moved the last load while riding a scooter to the shuttle station at the Givat Shaul intersection, he attached it to a bicycle that was leaning against the fence and quickly left the place.



Then, according to the indictment, he fled the scene unloaded on the scooter according to his plan, but then the drive chain broke and the scooter was disabled.

He abandoned the vehicles near the side of the road in the Khan al-Ahmar area, took the helmet, weapons, charges and clothes with him and scattered them near him.

The 50-year-old was critically injured and pronounced dead a few days later in the hospital.

At 07:03 the bomb that was placed in Givat Shaul exploded while many passengers were found there, including 16-year-old Aryeh Shechopak who was pronounced dead on the spot and 50-year-old Tedsa Tschuma who was fatally injured and was pronounced dead a few days later in the hospital.

Others suffered injuries of varying degrees of severity and needed medical attention.

A day after the attacks, Prok sent a message using his mobile phone through the Telegram app to the Nasher News channel, which is affiliated with the organization, in which he took responsibility for carrying out the attacks.



The indictment attributes the commission of murder under aggravated circumstances, acts of terrorism of attempted murder, active membership in a terrorist organization and using weapons for terrorist purposes. The prosecution asked the court to order the arrest of the accused until the end of the legal proceedings against him.
