Teenage actor Tyler Sanders, known for his starring role on
Just Add Magic: Mystery City
and his guest appearances on
9-1-1: Lone Star
and
Fear the Walking Dead
, died in June from "fentanyl effects." ”, revealed his autopsy.
On June 16, a friend of Sanders found him "unconscious in bed in his locked apartment," said the Los Angeles County coroner's report obtained Thursday by NBC News, sister network of Noticias Telemundo.
According to the report, 911 was contacted and paramedics rushed to the apartment, where 18-year-old Sanders was pronounced dead.
"The friend had been exchanging text messages with him the night before and told him that he had used fentanyl," said the autopsy, adding that "drug paraphernalia was identified at the scene."

Toxicology tests later determined that
Sanders had the potent drug in his system
, the report revealed.
"Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid, which is about 50 to 100 times stronger than morphine," said the autopsy that determined Sanders' death was accidental.

The young actor "had a history of drug use," said the report dated December 5, signed by Robyn Parks, interim medical director and medical examiner.
In June, Sanders' agent, Pedro Tapia, confirmed his death in a statement: “
Tyler was a talented actor with a bright future.
He comes from a wonderful family and we ask that you respect his privacy at this time."
