Despite rather mild temperatures for the season, homeless people remain particularly vulnerable.
On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, a 46-year-old homeless man was found dead at Place des Capucins in Bordeaux, around 1:15 a.m.
Two other homeless people tried to resuscitate the victim, but he was dead when help arrived on the scene.
An investigation has been opened by the Bordeaux prosecutor's office to determine the causes of death.
Although the victim has no apparent injuries, an autopsy will take place in the coming days.

Several emergency accommodation facilities have recently opened in Bordeaux.
In addition, in 2021, hundreds of volunteers mobilized to identify people on the street, as part of "
Solidarity Night
".
This action had made it possible to count 561 homeless people in the city, in addition to 297 people living in squats, to arrive at a total of at least 858 people.
A second edition will be organized on January 26.
