Some have already applied for the Olching security guard, but the police are still hoping for more interested parties.
Olching
- "We need a certain number so that the whole thing makes sense," explains police chief inspector Thomas Obermayer when asked by the daily newspaper.
However, it does not become more precise.
Just this much: The voluntary security guards have to show a certain presence and that requires a certain number of staff.

By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular
FFB newsletter.)
The police want to place another call in the city's bulletin.
That would then be the third, whereby one fell into the summer holidays, which wasn't so cheap, says Obermayer.
In addition, the police have already placed a job advertisement in the daily newspaper.
Applicants must be at least 18 and no more than 62 years old.
You must have a recognized school-leaving certificate or completed vocational training.
Volunteer work is planned alongside the actual job and includes around 15 to 20 hours of work per month for the Maisach-Olching security guard association.
Applicants must be able to communicate fluently in German and be able to walk.
They should also be interested in communicating with their fellow human beings.
The police emphasized that the security guard did not take on any original police tasks.
The members would have the same rights as any other citizen, these would only be supplemented by the Security Guard Act.
In plain language, this means: Like everyone else, the volunteer patrol may exercise self-defense rights.
Criminals who catch them in the act are arrested, for example.
However, the security guard is also authorized to have IDs shown and to issue space references, which already goes beyond the so-called everyman's rights.
The members can be recognized by their blue clothing, similar to that of the police.
The equipment includes, for example, a radio and irritant sprayer.
There is a tax-free expense allowance of eight euros per hour for the assignment.
Before you can take to the streets, you have to pass a police aptitude test.
In addition, the volunteers receive a crash course in criminal law and the like, as well as first aid.
At the time, the initiative came from the police, and the concept of the Bavarian security guard was presented to the relevant committees in Olching and Maisach and the majority approved.
The security guard is to support the police in Olching and Maisach, who are also suffering from a lack of staff, in places where vandalism and disturbances of the peace often occur.
For example in the Amperauen and at S-Bahn stations.
