The Center for Health Protection of the Department of Health announced today (30th) that a suspected food poisoning case broke out at the restaurant Watermark at Ferry Pier No. 7 in Central, involving 16 diners, all of whom had eaten raw oysters, and eight of them have sought medical attention. No admission required.
All patients are in stable condition.

The Center for Health Protection said today (30th) that the suspected food poisoning cases involved 16 people.
The cases involved eight men and eight women, aged between 25 and 36.
They attended a luncheon and ate oysters at Watermark, a restaurant at Ferry Pier No. 7 in Central on December 27.
They developed abdominal pain, diarrhoea, dizziness, fever, weakness, nausea and vomiting about 21 to 44 hours later.
Eight of those affected have sought medical attention but did not require hospitalization.
All patients are in stable condition.
The center appeals to the public to maintain personal, food and environmental hygiene in order to prevent food-borne diseases.
When eating out, you should pay attention to patronizing reliable and licensed restaurants, avoid eating raw seafood, handle carefully and separate raw and cooked food thoroughly during cooking, etc.
