The reactions to the new government in Israel continue to flow, led by that of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken who this morning (Friday) emphasized Washington's commitment to work alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
"I look forward to working with the new Israeli government to promote peace, security and prosperity in the region. We must promote the interests and values that have been at the heart of our relationship for decades," Blinken said.
He also said: "The deep ties between the US and Israel have long been based on an unwavering commitment to Israel's security and certain shared ideals, including democratic principles and a vision of Israel at peace with its neighbors."

"As President Biden said," who congratulated Netanyahu before, "we will work with the new government to jointly face the many challenges and opportunities facing Israel and the Middle East region, including the threat from Iran. We will continue to support the two-state solution and oppose policies that endanger or contradict the interests and our mutual values."
Finally, Blinken emphasized that "the United States will remain committed to promoting equal measures of freedom, justice, security and prosperity for Israelis and Palestinians alike."
