After a few days of rest facing the sea at Fort Brégançon (Var), the Head of State returns to the palace to deliver the traditional end-of-year speech on Saturday evening.
His sixth overall.
The first of his second five-year term.
For the occasion, he will be facing another form of swell.
War in Ukraine, possible power cuts, inflation, shortage of medicines, creaking emergencies, upcoming tussle over pensions… The picture has darkened at the end of 2022.
