A young bull was out and about in Germering for almost two days.

In the city center and on the main road, he kept the police, residents and his owner on their toes.

Germering –

As early as Wednesday (December 28), a calf escaped from a farmer in Germeringer and ran in the direction of Lake Germeringer.

In the forest in the direction of the Schusterhäusl, the farmer lost sight of the animal.

A search using a drone from the Germering fire department was negative.

Germering: Resident reports to the police - cow in the garden

On Thursday (December 29) around 11 p.m., a resident of Dorfstraße reported to the Germering police and said that he had seen a cow in Dorfstraße that was staying on a property there.

There, the emergency services determined that the "calf" was a young bull that weighed around 450 kilograms.

According to the police, an attempt was first made to stop the animal by closing the gate of the property.

However, the animal was able to break out of the property and continued down Dorfstrasse in the direction of Augsburger Strasse.

The attempt to lock up the animal on another property in the village street failed again because the animal broke through a wooden picket fence.

Attempts to lasso the animal failed

The animal then ran down Augsburger Strasse in the direction of Untere Bahnhofstrasse and Kirchenstrasse.

It was held up for a long time in the flower field south of Kirchstrasse.

Attempts by the farmer to catch the animal with a lasso were not possible due to the animal's aggressiveness.

The police and the forces of the called fire brigade were also unable to stop or fix the animal in the long term.

It was able to escape again and now ran north via Kirchenstrasse and Heimgartenstrasse back onto Augsburger Strasse.

Germering: Young bull runs on the main road towards Munich

With the help of several patrol vehicles, the animal was able to be herded into the yard of the local power plant at the community meadow, from where it was able to flee again and ran onto the B2 in the direction of Munich.

Therefore, the B2 had to be completely blocked in some cases.

The animal ultimately ran back down Augsburger Strasse in the direction of the former tennis facility on Augsburger Strasse.

There the animal could be surrounded and prevented from further escape with the help of bars that the farmer had taken with him.

At around 3:30 a.m. on Friday morning (December 30), the animal was finally sedated by a veterinarian who was informed and the animal was brought back to the home stable by the owner.

The police in Germering and Gauting, the traffic police in Fürstenfeldbruck and the fire brigade in Germering were deployed.

Neither the young bull nor the emergency services were injured.
