The Green Or Association stated that in 2022, 26 children were killed in traffic accidents, with half of them being pedestrians.

Attorney Yaniv Ya'akov, CEO of the Or Yerok association, said that he shares in the family's deep sorrow, and added: "Every year, an entire school class is simply erased from our lives. Every child deserves the right to live in a safe environment, and therefore the Minister of Transportation and Road Safety must prioritize Reducing the injury of children in traffic accidents. We must increase the installation of deceleration lanes and raise crosswalks in order to curb and moderate the speed of travel in urban areas. As a first step, the national plan must be approved that will reduce traffic accidents by 50% in the next five years and prevent more children from being injured on the road." .

Orli Silvinger, CEO of Betra for Child Safety: "Just before we end the year 2022, another boy was killed by running over a girl.

A report on child mortality from injuries published this week by the Beret organization clearly showed that children in the Bedouin society are at the highest risk of dying in an accident compared to all Israeli children. The report shows a direct link between socio-economic status and the risk of death in children's accidents.

I call on the new government that was sworn in this week to act decisively and clearly to reduce children's accidents and to continue focused activities with proven programs in at-risk populations, including the children from the Bedouin society."
