The Directorate of Education in Al-Hasakah Governorate, in cooperation with the Norwegian Refugee Council, concluded a remedial lessons project in Al-Jawahiri Schools in the city of Al-Hasakah.
The Director of Education, Ilham Surkhan, stated in a statement to SANA reporter that the remedial lessons project, which targeted 234 male and female students from the Al-Khansa and Al-Idrisi schools within Al-Jawahiri community, extended over a period of three months, and included providing remedial lessons for students participating in Arabic language and mathematics subjects for the fifth and sixth grades, pointing out that The project previously trained ten teachers on the Education in the Context of Crises package, which focused on active learning strategies and a program towards better learning as a means of supporting students psychologically, in order to obtain better academic results.
Surkhan indicated that the students who benefited from the project underwent an evaluation and progressed to a midterm study. They will also conduct a post-evaluation to measure their level of progress and achievement, and the student's achievement will be monitored after the first semester exam conducted by the school.
It is noteworthy that the conclusion of the project witnessed the presentation of artistic and theatrical paragraphs about the school and the importance of learning, in addition to an exhibition of drawings and paintings for the participating students.
