Many people find fireworks on New Year's Eve beautiful.
Firecrackers and rockets are strictly forbidden in the old town of Wolfratshausen - risk of fire.
Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen
- Lighting firecrackers and rockets is part of a traditional start to the new year for many people.
Dealers in the region are seeing strong demand this year.
However, there are some prohibitions to be observed.
The burning of pyrotechnic objects in the immediate vicinity of churches, hospitals, children's and retirement homes and particularly fire-sensitive buildings or systems is strictly prohibited.
Wolfratshausen: Fireworks in the old town are prohibited due to the risk of fire
This affects the entire district, based on the German Explosives Act.
Municipalities can enact additional regulations in their area, and some - like the towns of Bad Tölz and Wolfratshausen - have been doing so for many years.
Due to the risk of fire in the inner city buildings, the burning of Class II pyrotechnic objects (New Year's Eve rockets and firecrackers) is prohibited in the Wolfratshauser Obermarkt and Untermarkt areas on New Year's Eve.
According to the announcement, this ban also applies to the adjacent street areas of Humplgassl, Seilergassl, Moraschgassl, Dr.-Happ-Gassl and Ochsenbräugassl as well as Loisachufer street.
Also for the Eichheimweg above the old town.
Violations of the ordered ban can be punished with a fine of up to 5,000 euros.
