Shortly thereafter, railway employees discovered a dead young man.

Gunzenhausen - On New Year's Eve 2022, a homicide occurred at the train station in Gunzenhausen (Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district).

Murder in Gunzenhausen: 23-year-old injured in hospital

According to previous knowledge, there was a physical altercation in the area of ​​the Hafnermarkt in Gunzenhausen around 6 a.m.

"During the course of the argument, a 23-year-old man was apparently seriously injured in the upper body with a knife by a stranger," the police said in a press release.

Murder in Gunzenhausen: Young man found dead at the train station

The 23-year-old was taken to a hospital, he is currently "not in an acute life-threatening condition," it said.

In the course of the investigation, Deutsche Bahn employees found a lifeless man next to a track near the station around 8:30 a.m.

The notified emergency doctor could only determine his death. 

"The deceased has injuries that indicate physical violence by unknown persons.

The dead man is also a 23-year-old man from Gunzenhausen," the police said.

Police are investigating a homicide in Gunzenhausen

The Ansbach homicide commission has started investigations to clarify what happened.

A connection between the above-mentioned incidents is currently being examined.
