An evaluation has shown that holidaymakers sometimes have to pay significantly more in the new year, and not just for flights to popular destinations in Italy or Turkey.

If you want to fly on vacation in 2023, you have to reckon with sometimes significantly higher ticket prices.

For some flights, the prices would even rise by up to 60 percent compared to the previous year, as reported by

, citing a current evaluation by the comparison provider Swoodoo.

As the evaluation showed, vacationers for flights to Florence in 2023 would have to “pay an average of 100 euros more than in 2022. Instead of 179 euros, 279 euros will be due in future, a price increase of 56 percent”.

The ticket prices for Genoa would also climb from an average of “169 to 274 euros”, an increase of 62 percent.

Flights to Bologna would also be more expensive, where a ticket would “on average” cost 188 euros in 2023 – according to the report, an increase of 68 percent compared to the previous year.

Flying is also often noticeably more expensive in the new year.

Holiday destinations in Turkey are also affected: "For flights to the city of Zonguldak on the Turkish Black Sea coast, holidaymakers will have to pay an average of 360 euros in the coming year (plus 60 percent)," writes the portal, citing the evaluation.

"The ticket prices to Izmir increase by around 58 percent to an average of 326 euros, to Bodrum by 57 percent to 345 euros."

Some long-haul flights are also affected by price increases

Even for some long-haul destinations, passengers in 2023 are likely to have to dig deeper into their pockets when it comes to air fares.

According to the analysis, flights to Buenos Aires would be 50 percent more expensive, the report also says, "ticket prices to Cape Town will increase by 45 percent compared to last year, and air travel to Seoul and Japan will increase in price by 30 and 48 percent in the coming year, respectively Percent."
