Alfons Schuhbeck was sentenced to three years and two months in prison for tax evasion.
Since he has applied for a revision, he does not have to start his prison sentence yet.
Today he is celebrating his last evening in the Südtiroler Stuben - before New Year's Eve, Schuhbeck suddenly becomes emotional.
Munich - For Alfons Schuhbeck, an era ends today: After 19 years, the star chef is celebrating his last evening in the Südtiroler Stuben and offers a classic New Year's Eve menu for 195 euros with tartare, pike-perch and chocolate dessert at the Platzl.
Schuhbeck's time in the Südtiroler Stuben will be over tomorrow on New Year's - his lease is expiring.

Looking ahead to 2023, Schuhbeck faces gloomy scenarios: He will probably have to be arrested.
It is still unclear when exactly he will start his sentence of three years and two months.
The district court of Munich I had sentenced him to three years and two months for tax evasion.
Schuhbeck has appealed against the verdict.
He is currently looking for an investor to be able to pay his tax debts - and is now getting emotional on New Year's Eve.

"Like all people who are now looking back on a sad old year, I too have one consolation: Even the darkest night ends at some point with sunrise," says Schuhbeck at the request of our editors.
“That allows us to be optimistic and not be afraid of anything new in the new year.

The star chef cannot be denied a personal greeting.

He and his lawyers are currently examining the written judgment of the district court.
After the judgment was served at the beginning of December, Schuhbeck has a total of four weeks to react and withdraw his appeal - the star chef had announced this in the event that he "reproaches the alleged tax cuts and the considerations for the assessment of sentences on the basis of the written judgment “ can understand.

According to information from our editorial team, the Schuhbeck decision will be received by the second week of January at the latest on December 7th and will therefore have until January 4th to react.
If Schuhbeck withdraws the revision, the star chef would soon have to be in prison, which he would start according to the prison plan in Landsberg am Lech.
