The weather forecast for the coming days.
Munich/Wiesbaden - The year is coming to an end and the weather is really turning up.
At the turn of the year it gets very mild with temperatures of up to 21 degrees.
It could be the warmest New Year since weather records began in 1881.
The first day of the new year also starts with spring-like temperatures.
First, however, it will be stormy in some parts of Germany.
The German Weather Service (DWD) expects gusts of up to 105 km/h.

A level one to two weather warning applies to the west and north of the country.
The DWD warns on Friday morning (December 30) of heavy gusts of wind on the Brocken and in some areas of gusts of wind on the sea.

From Friday noon, people in the Black Forest will also have to reckon with hurricane-force gusts of wind.
The DWD expects gusts of up to 85 km/h at high altitudes and up to 105 km/h on the Feldberg, as a DWD spokesman told the dpa news agency.
With temperatures between seven and 12 degrees, it can rain in the meantime.
After the stormy day on Friday, the situation calms down on Saturday (December 31) and temperatures are climbing.
Weather: Record temperatures on New Year's Eve: New Year's up to 20 degrees possible
“New Year's Eve will be warmer than ever this year.
21 degrees could be reached, there have never been such high peak values on this day.
Even at midnight, the weather models still expect 10 to 16 degrees," said qualified meteorologist Dominik Jung to the weather

.
The reason for the mild temperatures in Germany is the cold snap in the USA.
“The cold, icy air masses have advanced as far as the North Atlantic and have kickstarted the low-pressure activity there.
As a result, more and more lows are now moving to Germany and they are pumping extremely warm air masses to Germany on their front side,” explained Jung.
The warm end fits in well with the record year 2022.
Since weather records began, there hasn't been a year as warm as 2022, Jung said.
However, the heat should also come to an end.
Weather in the new year remains changeable - snow possible again
With lots of sunshine and a few clouds, the new year starts warmly with temperatures of up to 20 degrees.
The weather remains very unstable.
Sun, clouds and showers alternate in the coming week.

Jung predicts that it could soon get colder again.
"Only a week later, however, the weather models show new cold air and then there could even be snow again down to lower altitudes," says Jung.
This means that after Epiphany on January 6th it can snow again in the medium and high elevations.
According to a forecast, January, February and March could still be much too warm.
