According to the laws of Hong Kong, it is illegal for anyone to possess or set off fireworks and firecrackers without permission. Article 6 of the Dangerous Goods Ordinance states that the maximum penalty for illegal possession of fireworks and firecrackers is a fine of 25,000 yuan and six months' imprisonment.
