The main island of the Republic of Mauritius nevertheless imposes several entry conditions which must be read before going there, in order to avoid unpleasant surprises on arrival.

It is nicknamed "the paradise island" because of the kindness of its inhabitants... But the authorities of the country will not overlook several documents when you arrive in Mauritius.
For a stay of less than three months, a valid passport and a return ticket are mandatory.
In some cases, proof of residence and financial capacity (USD 100 per day) is also required.
A small exception is made for French nationals residing in Reunion.
Whether they are minors or adults, they can enter the territory of the Republic of Mauritius with only their identity card (valid) if they stay there for more than two nights.
Be careful, however: this derogation, implemented on September 19, 2022, ends on June 30, 2023.

Our essentials
For a stay of more than three months: a visa application must be made.
Those wishing to work in Mauritius during a stay of more than 90 days must also apply for a work permit and/or residence permit at the Mauritian passport and immigration office. .
This request must be made before departure to Mauritius.
What health measures are in place to deal with Covid?

Since July 1, 2022, holidaymakers wishing to enjoy the beaches, fauna and flora of Mauritius no longer need to present a negative Covid test or their vaccination certificate on arrival.
In addition, if, until then, unvaccinated travelers had to isolate themselves upon their arrival on the African island, this is no longer the case today.
On the other hand, travelers wishing to reach Mauritius must submit to the authorities of the island country a passenger and health identification form, which can be downloaded here, upon their arrival at the airport.
What about wearing a mask on site?
This is no longer mandatory.
However, the Mauritian authorities recommend wearing it “at airports, during transfers and on public transport, as well as in all public and private health establishments, including hospitals and pharmacies.

Which airlines fly to Mauritius?
Several companies can take you to Mauritius.

Several options are available to you for a round trip to Mauritius.
Air Mauritus, Air France, Air Austral, Austrian Airlines, Lufthansa, SWISS, Edelweiss Air, or even Turkish Airlines offer several flights from France to Mauritius.
Remember to bring something to take care of: non-stop flights between the two destinations last an average of 11 hours.
For departure: Paris, Bordeaux, Marseille and Toulouse offer flights to Mauritius.
On arrival, however, only one airport can welcome you, that of Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam, the only one on the island.
