A new civil year began tonight (Sunday) at midnight, and with it the first born in 2023 came into the world, for whom this date will forever be special.
Liel and Sergey Levitsky from Rehovot are the new parents of the first baby born at Shamir Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Be'er Ya'akov a few minutes after midnight, with the beginning of the new foreign year.
"We looked forward to the birth every day and how fun it was that she arrived shortly after the beginning of the new civil year," the happy parents noted.

The first baby
The first baby of the year was born at Sheba Tel Hashomer Medical Center in Ramat Gan weighing 3,970 kilograms.
The parents Betty Yacovi and Gal Yifrah from Ashdod were moved and thanked the team that accompanied them during their first birth.
Liora Goldenfeld from Ashdod also gave birth to her son, who was the first baby born at the Kaplan Medical Center in Rehovot.

Shawarma dish
Tal and Nahum ben Zaken from Hadera had the privilege of welcoming their fourth son at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in the city after an emotional birth.
The nurses who accompanied the couple said that the woman giving birth was at peak strength and even avoided painkillers.
"The first request after the child was born was - a shawarma meal."
In the same wing, baby Milan was also born, whose name means love, to parents Yasmin and Mahmoud and Ishachi from Kfar Arara.
In the maternity ward at the Meir Kfar Saba Hospital, Yael and Raz Toizer, residents of the city, hugged their baby who was born at 1:07 at night, a brother to four-year-old Yuval and two-year-old Gili.
"Labor started on Wednesday," says Yael, "we didn't think we would be born on 1/1, but thanks to the amazing team that accompanied us with professionalism and sensitivity, the experience was as easy as possible and the baby came out healthy and on time."
