Likud is conducting separate negotiations with each of the opposition factions on the distribution of the remaining positions in the Knesset committees, leaving Yesh Atid and Ream to the end. According to sources in the Knesset, agreements have already been reached with the state camp, Hadas Ta'al and Yisrael Beitenu, and there are also talks with the Labor Party

Three days after the sixth Netanyahu government was formed, and the split and division in the opposition is getting worse.

The Likud conducts separate negotiations with each of the opposition factions on the division of positions and seats for the opposition in the Knesset committees, in a way that undermines the status of Yesh Atid in the opposition leadership.

According to sources in the Knesset, the Likud has already closed in principle with the state camp, Hadash-Ta'al and Israel Beytinu the planned distribution of roles, and is conducting separate negotiations with the Labor Party, with the aim of leaving Yesh Atid to represent only itself and Ra'am.

After the distribution of positions to the coalition members, a very limited number of positions remained for the opposition.

The Likud decided to duplicate the division of roles that existed in the outgoing Knesset, which was considered discriminatory and predatory and did not express the true balance of power between the coalition and the previous opposition during the days of the Bennet-Lapid government.

Therefore, this time as well, the opposition is expected from the beginning to lack representation in the important committees in the Knesset, and a very small number of positions of Knesset deputy speakers and committee heads, except for the State Audit Committee, which is headed by the opposition according to law.

Instead of conducting the negotiations on the distribution of roles with a representative of Yesh Atid, the largest party in the opposition, and leaving the internal division to the factions themselves, in Likud they did divide and rule and closed with each of the factions separately.

The state camp and Hadash-Ta'al announced in advance that they intend to conduct independent negotiations and take care of the positions themselves, and so they also conducted independent channels on the distribution of the positions of the temporary deputy chairman before the swearing in of the government. In recent days, Israel Beitenu and the Labor Party have also received proposals from the Likud separately, And it appears that Yesh Atid and Ra'am will be the last to close.

An MK in one of the opposition factions said: "As soon as the state camp broke ranks and made it clear that they are taking care of themselves, why should only we be enslaved to the future?"

They only care about themselves anyway."

The internal tensions at the top of the opposition between Yesh Atid and the state camp became public at the end of last week during the swearing in of the government.

While the Chairman of Yesh Atid, the outgoing Prime Minister Yair Lapid, and most of the members of his party left the plenary session during the swearing-in, the members of the state camp remained in the hall and shook hands with all the new ministers. The chairman of the state camp, Benny Gantz, even condemned in his speech the disturbances of Yesh Atid people to the speech of incoming Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, "and also the disrespect shown when leaving the hall" during Lapid's speech.

Later, MK Karin Elharer (Yesh Atid) attacked Gantz on Twitter and wrote: "Avi Maoz and Itamar Ben Gabir are sworn to a government that appears to be the most extreme and discriminatory, but it was important for him to condemn the interference with Netanyahu."

The state camp reacted with a sharp attack against Lapid, which revealed that the battles of accusations led by the bloc opposing Netanyahu for the loss in the elections are still heated: "Perhaps you forgot, we didn't. Because of you and because of Lapid there is Ben Gvir. Whoever is aiming is intentional at worst, or by omission at best - they crushed Meretz Below the blocking percentage, they acted against the bloc's parties irresponsibly and arrogantly, and sat in a restaurant on the night of the closing of the lists instead of taking care of the bloc - these are people from your party. We will not accept moral preaching from you."
