At the ministerial exchange ceremony at the Ministry of Defense, the outgoing minister called on the incoming minister: "Put a high protective wall between the IDF and political involvement" • In the meantime, Welfare Minister Margi promised to "work hard"

Defense Minister Yoav Galant said today (Sunday) at his inauguration ceremony in Kirya: "The security system under my leadership, in a joint effort between all its branches, will prepare the answer that will allow the Israeli government to make any decision regarding the containment of the Iranian nuclear effort. The IDF, the People's Army, stands above all Dispute, as Defense Minister - I undertake to act and strengthen the Israel Defense Forces."

At the ministerial exchange ceremony, the outgoing minister, Benny Gantz, called on Gallant: "Erect a high and solid protective wall between the IDF and political involvement in operational and value decisions and do not allow the security system to be broken up into sub-units subject to political whims."

Gantz also said that he is "anxious for the future of the IDF as the people's army - without a new service model and with the intended evasion law, our security future will be clouded."

"I am sure that security will be at the forefront of your mind using your extensive experience. I call on you to protect the IDF, and to continue and preserve the cooperation between the security organizations.

If I had one piece of advice, I would tell you - erect a high and solid protective wall between the IDF and political involvement in operational and value decisions and do not allow the disintegration of the security system into sub-units subject to political whims and disconnected from the chain of command."

"Promise to work hard"

At the Ministry of Welfare and Social Security, a ministerial exchange ceremony was held before noon between the outgoing minister Meir Cohen and the incoming ministers Yaakov Margi and Yoav Ben Tzur of Shas.

Cohen said that "it is significant that a strong party in the coalition chose this office."

The incoming minister Yaakov Margi replied that he "promises to work hard".

The ceremony was also attended by Shas Chairman and Deputy Prime Minister Aryeh Deri, who noted that in the coalition agreements, Shas insisted on inserting a clause allocating 150 million shekels for the implementation of the welfare services law that was passed in the previous Knesset with a rare agreement between the coalition and the opposition.
