In the Hadera Magistrate's Court, an indictment was filed today (Sunday) against the son of a senior police officer and two other accomplices, for stealing approximately NIS 160,000 from an employee of a supermarket chain who was involved in collecting redemption money from the branches.

According to the indictment, the three, his 32-year-old uncle (David) Levy from Moshav Shomra, the son of Deputy Chief Ran Levy, the police officer of the Northern District, as well as two residents of Migdal Hamemek Tal Fahima, 28, and Sharon Nazri, 28 42, followed last Sunday the collection of funds by the manager of the northern region of the chain "Maayan 2000". The surveillance, which began at the chain's branch in Migdal Ha'Emek, continued in the settlement of Racsim, and up to the branch next to the settlement of Harish - where the theft was committed.

According to the indictment, at around 12:00 noon, the manager parked the blue Toyota he was driving near the supermarket branch on Hatana Street in Harish and entered it.

A short time later, according to the indictment, the three arrived in a Suzuki car that Levy had received from another man, who had rented it in Kiryat Ata, and parked at a sharp angle towards the road to make it easier to drive away from the place later.

So, Levy who served as the driver stayed in the Suzuki with the engine running and Fahima and Nazri got out of the vehicle wearing hoodies and approached the manager's vehicle and watched him.

At this point, according to the indictment, Fahima smashed the rear door window with a special tool, got into the car and the two took money bags containing 157,581 in cash and more checks in the amount of several thousand shekels.

The indictment states that after that they ran to their car, got into it, and Levy began a fast drive away from the scene.

However, the detectives of the central unit of the Coastal District were in proactive action following them ahead of time, positioned themselves and thus a few minutes later they arrested them near Harish settlement.

The money was seized and so was a face mask, a "neck warmer" scarf and the hacking device for breaking windows.

In their investigations, Fahima and Nazari maintained the right to remain silent.

Between interrogations, Nazri told the investigators that he would have told them everything, but he was afraid of the other two.

Levy admitted that he drove, but told the investigators that he did so even though he had plans to go shopping and take a trip in the north with his wife and children, and that because Fahima asked him to drive him "to errands" without telling him the nature of those errands, and where they were going to go, as well as "the driver "The same all the way.

He did not know how to explain to the investigators how he gave up a day off with his family in order to drive for those arrangements of Fahima when in practice no arrangements were made.

Fahima has seven previous convictions for crimes of serious violence, weapons, property, drugs and more, as a result of which he served prison terms, including lengthy ones.

Nazri has six previous convictions and another record without a conviction for drug offenses, threats and violence.

The prosecution branch of the Coastal District, which filed the indictment, requests the extension of the arrest of the three until the end of the legal proceedings against them.

"We have served in the police force for enough years to understand that someone here acted with excessive zeal in a way that we have not seen before," says to Walla attorney Etti Kharif, the retired judge who represents Dodo Levy with attorney Kobi Levy.

Both are former police officers.

Kharif added: "I was a detention judge in the Central District and I have never encountered such disdain and a basic lack of understanding when a person is deprived of his freedom until the end of the proceedings, a serious break-in and theft from a vehicle which does not automatically justify the most serious sanction of detention until the end of the proceedings! This reckless act is In complete opposition to the guidance of the state attorney and the arrest law. This is a normative suspect, a former fighter, without a criminal record, married and father of children, who was apparently involved in a minor and innocent part of a single property crime, the supervision envelope around him is more than appropriate and guarantees the required protection. The police apparently forgot that this arrest was the exception to the rule We will work for the immediate release of our client and his acquittal, and we will soon prove that there was no blemish in his innocent conduct."

"But we have received the indictment and we will be able to respond after we study the investigation file," said attorney Yahli Sperling, who represents Sharon Nazri with attorney Doron Noi and attorney Tamir Sannes. On Thursday, at the Hadera Magistrate's Court, he told Judge Ahsan Halabi, in separate hearings, extended the detention of each of the three until today, because "we are not talking about a criminal, but a normal person who is disabled by the IDF."
