A complete roof truss fire in Westheim could only be prevented by chance.

This was announced by the police on Sunday, January 1st.

Accordingly, a 29-year-old had returned home briefly on New Year's Eve from a celebration in Westheim (Weissenburg-Gunzenhausen district) because he had forgotten his New Year's cigar, which had become a ritual.
The man saw a glow of fire in a newly built dormer window and alerted the fire brigade.
A basement fire broke out in a residential building in Franconia. The residents were able to get out of the house themselves, but three people were injured.

The Regensburg fire brigade was alerted shortly before 10 p.m. Four cars were fully engulfed in flames, and others had already been damaged by the heat.

This advanced with 70 forces and extinguished the flames.
According to the police, the small fire in the open roof truss with a lot of dry wood would soon have turned into a complete roof truss fire.
The cause of the fire was initially unclear.
Investigators suspect a stray missile may have started the fire.
