Kochel am See – On New Year's Day, around 60 emergency services were involved in extinguishing a fire in an apartment building.
The house is completely destroyed and no longer habitable.
On Sunday (January 1st) a fire broke out in an apartment building in Kochel am See shortly before noon.
The fire brigade was alerted at 12:05 p.m., at which point the smoke could be seen from afar, according to the police report.
A room fire was reported in which people were at risk, reports spokesman Maximilian Maier, police chief.
When the first firefighters arrived, the building was already on fire up to the roof, he explains.
The head of operations then increased the alarm keyword to "B4 - building fire" and alerted other fire brigades and initiated a large-scale extinguishing operation, reports the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen District Fire Inspectorate.
“The emergency services with their breathing apparatus had to be replaced several times.
In addition, the roof had to be opened to get the fire under control," explains Police Commissioner Maier.
One resident was able to save herself from the building and was examined in detail by a doctor and another person on site.
One resident injured her hand, which the emergency services were able to treat directly.
None of the residents had to be transported to the hospital, but one firefighter was injured during the operation.
This could be treated directly.
According to estimates, the property damage is around 800,000 euros, but the apartment building has been massively destroyed, which is why it is currently no longer habitable, the press spokesman reports in conclusion.
It was the fire brigades from Kochel am See, Schlehdorf, Ried and the rescue police on duty.
