Health Canada announced on December 31 that temporary quarantine measures will be implemented for inbound travelers from mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau.
The authorities require that all people aged 2 or above from China, Hong Kong, and Macau, regardless of nationality and vaccination status, must have a negative virus test result within 48 hours before boarding a flight to the local area, and the relevant measures will be maintained for 30 days.
In addition to Canada, South Korea, Spain and France also followed the United States, India, Japan, the United Kingdom and other countries on the 30th, requiring Chinese passengers to show negative virus test certificates.
China has recently changed the "clear" epidemic prevention policy that has been maintained for nearly three years, and began to issue passports and visas for the public. The outside world is worried that a large number of Chinese people will travel abroad during the Lunar New Year, which may cause the virus to spread rapidly and even mutate. Beijing's decision appears more cautious.
