Schliersee – The market town of Schliersee bids farewell to retired members of the market town council.

A farewell to the retired Schliersee municipal councils did not take place in the past two years due to the corona pandemic.

Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer therefore decided to invite the municipal councils to the final meeting in 2022 in the town hall and to take them with them to the joint Christmas dinner that followed.

"You can now say that not much happened in these six years from 2014 to 2020, apart from the extension to the local history museum," said Mayor Franz Schnitzenbaumer.

But in fact, many things have been set in motion.

For example, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of the sports hall.

Despite many critics, who, for example, complained about its size and rising costs, the municipal council decided to go for it.

"Now you can see how well the hall fits in and how big it is inside," said Schnitzenbaumer with satisfaction.

He pointed out that the dynamics of the entire municipal council as a body had changed again and again.

In the past, the Schliersee municipal council was strongly faction-based, but today it's different: "Greens sit next to free voters," he said with a laugh.

The discussion culture is good, and since the return "to Corona" to the meeting room in the town hall there has no longer been a fixed seating plan.

"That makes working pleasant." Nevertheless, many things are still being fought over in order to achieve the best for Schliersee.

"We try to make the best of it with different opinions," said Schnitzenbaumer.

The mayor personally thanked each of the departing councillors.

As a thank you, he presented Johanna Wunderle (CSU), who was second mayor for two electoral periods, with the silver Sixtus needle from Schliersee.
