The two will meet in the shadow of tensions between them, which stems from Likud's calls for the ombudsman to be fired, and her failure to invite her to the cabinet meeting, as has been customary until now. Senior officials at the Ministry of Justice and the Prime Minister's Office agreed that the meeting will be held in a "tense" atmosphere, which, according to estimates, aims to bring about calm

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Legal Advisor to the Government Gali Beharev Miara are expected to meet today (Sunday) at noon, after the advisor was not invited to the first cabinet meeting as was customary until last Thursday.

A senior official at the Ministry of Justice claimed that she was "under pressure from the meeting".

Senior officials at the Ministry of Justice and the Prime Minister's Office said that the meeting will be held in a "tense" atmosphere, and according to estimates, its purpose is to bring about calm.

Before the meeting, Beharv Miara will meet with incoming Justice Minister Yariv Levin.

The tension between the parties stems from the Likud's election campaign, in which a number of members of the Knesset on behalf of the party spoke strongly against the legal adviser, and called on Netanyahu to fire her immediately after the elections.

In addition to this, incoming Justice Minister Yariv Levin canceled the ministerial change ceremony at which Rabbi Miara was supposed to speak.

The cancellation is accompanied by his public statements, which were sometimes harsh, against the legal system's interference in the government's decisions.

However, Prime Minister Netanyahu stated during the election campaign that the adviser would not be fired.
