After Rabbi Mazoz's words against the new Knesset Speaker caused an uproar, Rabbi Amar, the former Chief Rabbi of Israel, also attacked: "They are appointed to so-called important positions, they have already lost all shame."

"Shame like no other":

Former Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar today (Sunday) harshly criticized the ultra-Orthodox members of the Knesset who supported the appointment of MK Amir Ohana to the position of Speaker of the Knesset.

Rabbi Amar also attacked the very appointment of Ohana, a member of the LGBT community, to the position of Speaker of the Knesset.

"Woe to her for that shame, woe to her for that disgrace, woe to the ears that hear this, appoint them to so-called important positions, they have already lost all shame."

He added that "On the other hand, I thought that when I heard about the appointment, maybe the time of the Messiah had come because it says arrogance will be proud, there was a lot of arrogance that we thought but here we have already reached the peak. We have to be careful not to bring those people together, not to complete their quorum."

Rabbi Amar's words come a day after the storm caused by the words of Rabbi Meir Mazoz, head of the "Chair of Mercy" yeshiva in Bnei Brak, who claimed that "the minister who was in charge of Miron - is infected with the disease."
