After Rabbi Meir Mazoz's words against Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana caused an uproar, former Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar also attacked Ohana and the ultra-orthodox MKs who supported his appointment today.

"Unfortunately, even people who are considered cowards supported it, it's a shame like no other," said Rabbi Amar, who currently serves as the chief rabbi of Jerusalem, in his weekly class.

"People who present Torah and religion. We need to be very strong about this, it's a very serious thing, it's the lowest thing there is. It's things that have never happened before, to make a publication out of it was a great shame."

Rabbi Amar also attacked the very appointment of Ohana, a member of the LGBT community, to the position of Speaker of the Knesset.

"Woe to her for that shame, woe to her for that disgrace, woe to the ears that hear this, appoint them to so-called important positions, they have already lost all shame."

He added in his lesson that "On the other hand, I thought that when I heard about the appointment, maybe the time of the Messiah had come because it says, "Insolence will be proud."

He harshly attacked the LGBT community and said that "always, even if there were crazy people who did it, they would hide and woe to those who hear about it.

And now in our seasons God has mercy, so that he will not bring evil to the people of Israel, they make parades out of it, they are proud of it Rachel."

"There were many insolences, but this appointment is the record."

Last night Rabbi Meir Mazoz, one of the senior rabbis in the ultra-orthodox sector, harshly attacked the existence of the pride parades as well as the members of the gay community during his weekly lesson.

Mazoz, who gave his support in the last elections to the Shas and also received senior officials from Otzma Yehudit, Likud and Torah Judaism, said that "we should stay away from the pride parade, when there is such a parade we should close the windows, and tell the children 'there is a parade of animals walking on two'".

He said these words in the background of the appointment of MK Amir Ohana to the position of Speaker of the Knesset. Referring to Ohana, he said: "And the most impudent of all, two years ago there was the disaster in Miron, they say that the minister who was responsible (Minister for BTP Amir Ohana) is infected with this disease, so There is a question, what happened to us? It happened, stay away from it."

Rabbi Mazoz is the head of the Mercy Seat Yeshiva and one of the most prominent figures in the Sephardi movement in the ultra-orthodox sector.
