With his blessing, Pastor Norbert Joschko inaugurated the new shooting range of the Hubertusschützen in the community center in Finsing.

Finsing - Previously there had been a service in the Finsinger church for the deceased members of the association.

In his solemn sermon, the pastor also addressed the importance of rifle clubs, which has changed over the centuries.

Whereas in the past the focus was primarily on defending places, today they are important for socializing and bringing people together.

Joschko took up this point again at the consecration in the community center.

Above all, the pastor praised the dedicated youth work of the Hubertusschützen.

With the new technology, there would now be a modern shooting range for young people that relies not on sharp weapons but on computer technology.

According to Joschko, the blessing was also something special for him, because the inauguration of the community center in May 1995 was one of his first major assignments after taking office.

Afterwards, Finsing's Mayor Max Kressirer addressed a few words to those present.

The local chief congratulated the association on its 100th anniversary, which was also celebrated that evening (report to follow).

The celebration is on a smaller scale, but the mix of old and young shows exactly the special cohesion that makes the Hubertusschützen special.

"In this day and age, it's important to come together in person," said Kressirer.

That was also the tenor in the short speech by Gauschützenmeister Klaus Waldherr.

He emphasized that "sociability, cohesion and togetherness" are among the most important points of club life.

He wished the members that the association would exist for another 100 years and that they could also use the new facility for "ten to twenty years".

He calls the period of time so short, “because then someone will surely come up with something new that needs to be changed.

But the way you are together, you will also face the next challenges.”

The members of the association put in more than 500 hours of work to convert the stand (we reported).

Rifle champion Matthias Birnkammer thanked the sponsors who made the conversion possible.

A good third of the total costs of around 60,000 euros came from donations.

In addition to the celebration, there was also the anniversary shooting afterwards.

The aim was to get as close as possible to the 100 divisor.

Birnkammer was proud that 80 shooters took part.

The anniversary disc was carved by Josef Mayer, after his death in 2022 it was handed over to the club by the family and went to Alois Reischenbeck (report follows).

Hubert Stiegler provided an entertaining eye-catcher with a photo show of the best pictures from the past decades.
