A woman shared a photo of a Kaufland brochure on Twitter and was annoyed by the name of a pastry – because the name in Franconia is completely different.

Nuremberg – Knust, Knerzchen or Gnäusle.

These words all describe the tail of the bread.

Depending on where you are in Germany, it is called differently.

A discussion about a similar case is now occupying the network.

"Hello Kaufland, GO WITH YOU???" writes the user "Jungle Princess" on Twitter for a photo of a Kaufland brochure.

"Question for someone from Middle Franconia" she adds.

But what's the problem?

The supermarket brochure shows a sweet pastry on offer.

“Berliner/pancakes” with a fruit filling are available for 33 cents each, and the version filled with eggnog or nougat cream costs 59 cents.

Not everyone understands the Franconian dialect.

Anna Neubauer can remedy that.

The young woman from Fürth shares corresponding reels on Instagram.

Supermarket brochure: "If Kaufland doesn't have any, then we'll buy our donuts somewhere else"

"If Kaufland doesn't have one, then we'll buy our donuts somewhere else," jokes a woman under the tweet.

Because in Franconia the pastry is called neither Berliner nor pancake, but: "Krapfen, nothing else", as one man also comments.

"Pancakes, it's finally catching on," says another person happily.

Donut discussion about Kaufland

"Wow, they're cheap, got one today to try at Lidl, €0.99," writes another Twitter user for a smiley with star eyes.

"That's not the issue," the "jungle princess" reproaches him immediately - probably jokingly.

Despite being marked in the tweet, Kaufland has not yet responded to the "criticism" from Franconia.

Incidentally, there are other names for the pastry, including Kreppel or Puffel.
