Some neighbors revealed that Granny Chen lives with her daughter and grandson, neighbors occasionally greet her mother-in-law through the iron gate on weekdays, and the mother-in-law also responds and greets her "well-mannered".

Neighbors said that they seldom saw their daughter go out to buy food, but some neighbors gave food from time to time. The incident happened at around 8:00 in the morning. Someone in a unit of Kwai Oi Building, Kwai Fong Estate pressed the safety bell to call for help. Rescuers arrived and found a female elder unconscious. She was sent to Yan Chai Hospital for emergency treatment and died. She was born in 1909, the first year of Xuantong in the late Qing Dynasty, at the age of 114.
