Jakarta - Sana
An earthquake measuring 5.1 on the Richter scale struck today, north of the Indonesian island of Sumatra.
The US Geological Survey stated that the tremor occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers below the surface of the earth from the westernmost island of the Indonesian islands, without reports of casualties or material damage, or warnings of a tsunami.
It is noteworthy that Indonesia is often vulnerable to earthquakes because it is located in an area called the Pacific Ring of Fire, where earthquakes and tremors abound.
