On the last day of last year, 300 runners took part in the New Year's Eve run in Moosburg in spring-like temperatures.

The run was a complete success.

Moosburg

- It was the last day and the last event in the anniversary year of the city of Moosburg, which celebrated its 1250th anniversary last year.

The Alpine Club's New Year's Eve run was a day of celebration for around 300 recreational runners who once again enjoyed Moosburg's nature in the city forest and the Isar floodplains.

Because of Corona, the run on the last day of the year had been canceled twice, but the comeback was extremely strong.

With around 300 participants, it was at the upper level, although the temperatures of 15 degrees were record-breaking.

Moosburg's amateur runners already had small fields with 50 hard-boiled and routes with ice and snow.

This time, however, the New Year's Eve run felt like an appointment in spring.

(By the way: everything from the region is now also available in our regular Freising newsletter.)

Bright sunshine accompanied the New Year's Eve run - to the delight of the runners and moderator Bastian Kellner.

The organizers had already noticed very good conditions the day before.

This time there was only one danger point with a larger hole on the way along the Isar.

When presenting the three distances of two, six and ten kilometers, moderator Bastian Kellner only had this one warning "for the runners who maintain intensive conversation along the way".

Otherwise there were spring-like running conditions in the city forest, along the sky-blue lake and on the Isarweg.

Organization manager Heidi Sedlmaier and the team had created a family atmosphere for the runners from young to old.

At the finish, sausages and cakes awaited for refreshment.

For the club, the event in front of its own clubhouse right next to the city forest is one of the few events where the DAV shows itself in Moosburg, because when you go to the mountains in the city you don't really notice much of the club's activities.

About half of the field of 300 runners were from the ranks of the hosts.

Good to know: In the past, after the New Year's Eve run, in addition to donations from the participants, new members usually got stuck with the Moosburg DAV local association.
