Three people lost their homes in Kochel on New Year's Day.
Now a great wave of helpfulness has started.
Kochel am See – As reported, a fire broke out in a house on Kalmbachstraße at noon on New Year's Day, which quickly developed into a full fire.
The three fire brigades Kochel, Schlehdorf and Ried could no longer prevent the house from becoming uninhabitable.
On Monday, the police estimated the amount of damage to property at around 800,000 euros.
The securing of evidence has now been completed.
As a police spokesman informed our newspaper when asked, the fire broke out on the ground floor in the kitchen on a stove that was probably switched on.
The State Criminal Police Office will now prepare the final report.
Protection against rain attached to the roof
The Kochel fire brigade carried out a fire inspection in the evening, at night and in the morning, reports commander Hubert Resenberger.
On Monday, the roof was provisionally sealed so that the rain that had been announced would not cause any further damage to the building and interior.
Numerous neighbors help those affected
In the house lived an 81-year-old woman who was slightly injured in the fire, as well as a couple (61 and 54 years old).
"A strong neighborly aid campaign has started," reports Kochel's Mayor Thomas Holz.
Those affected stayed with family or friends.
Holz thanked everyone involved for supporting the fire victims.
"Of course, a lot has to be clarified now." The situation is a shock for everyone.
Holz also thanked the volunteer rescue workers who tried everything to save the building on New Year's Day.
"But it was amazing to see how quickly the fire spread."
