Drama on New Year's Eve: two women died in a traffic accident on the B179 near Musau.

One of the two is said to have been pregnant.

Musau - When two cars collided on the Fernpassstraße near Musau, two young women died on New Year's Eve.

Three other people were seriously injured in the accident.

On January 1, at around 3:30 a.m., two oncoming vehicles collided on the Fernpass federal road in the municipality of Musau at kilometer 45.7 for an unknown reason.

As the Tyrolean police reported, the driver of a car that was probably driving in the direction of Reutte, a 24-year-old Turkish woman, and her passenger, a 27-year-old Turkish woman, suffered fatal injuries.

According to media reports, one of the young women is said to have been pregnant.

A 29-year-old Turk who was also in the car was flown to the Innsbruck clinic by the rescue helicopter with serious injuries.

The driver of the oncoming car, a 66-year-old German man, and his 52-year-old passenger were seriously injured in the collision.

They had to be taken to the hospitals in Reutte and Kempten by ambulance.

The vehicles were totaled.

53 firefighters with ten vehicles were deployed (Musau 15 firefighters and three vehicles, Vils 17 firefighters and four vehicles, Reutte also with 17 firefighters and three vehicles).

From the rescue side, 23 emergency services were deployed, five of whom were emergency doctors and 18 paramedics.

From the Bavarian Red Cross, forces from Füssen and Pfronten were on site with three vehicles with six paramedics and emergency doctors.

The clean-up work at the scene of the accident and investigations by the police required the long-distance pass road to be closed for around five hours.
